Long time no cha-cha, but Stage Door Pod is back! We revisit some Melbourne shows from the last month or so. Cho Cho at the Arts Centre was a valiant attempt at a bilingual opera/musical that sadly didn’t quite come together, though we loved Han Xing’s puppetry, Danielle Barnes (and her fine wig) and Wang Zheng in the titular role. We also talk about Fat Pig, produced by Lab Kelpie Productions, directed by Daniel Frederiksen and starring Lyall Brooks, Lulu McClatchy, Cassandra McGrath and Patrick Harvey. And we have a chat about how much we enjoyed Julia Zemiro‘s QandA with Les Miserables composer Claude-Michel Schönberg at the State Library of Victoria.
