RATING
For anyone who works in media or started their own business or project, this podcast is so incredibly relatable and comforting! The openness and honesty about how difficult it is to build something from the ground up is much appreciated. As someone who just joined a podcast network, I'm learning a million lessons from the show. It's good to know that even people I consider geniuses or the best in their field don't know what they're doing either and that everyone makes mistakes, and yet we all forge ahead.
Really well made podcast. Season 1 was about their own startup project and it was exceptional. Some seasons focus on a single startup while others have many stand alone episodes. Very rarely have I not made it through an episode.
It was exciting to keep track on how Gimlet-media started up. It is here that I following other/new podcasts-series of Gimlet-media, as soon as they came out. This podcast for me, now feels like the Mickey Mouse of Disney ... the new frontiers are being explored in other Gimlet-media podcasts but it's a nice feeling to see that Startup is still around.
I really enjoyed the first season and all the followup on the topic of the first season, though the other seasons are a bit hit or miss. Still enjoyed most of it though!
Season 1 of this show was amazing! It felt like you were along for the ride.....the rest of the seasons have been pretty mixed. Season 2 of this season is definitely a low point. The American apparel season was great. Pretty mixed but generally a pretty solid listen.
Season 1 is a beautiful account of a man's struggle to start a business. Season 2 is mediocre. Season 3 is passable. Season 4 is interesting, but can get grating at times due to Dov Charney's personality. Season 5 is not bad.
I loved Season 1. A startup podcast about a podcast startup. Very genuine insights into how they built their company.
Season 1 (about the founding of Gimlet) was incredible.
Hit or miss. Some seasons are great, others have some unnecessary episodes that tend to drag. Love the show overall, and I get excited for every new episode.
Great podcast. Season 1 knocked it out of the park. Season 2 probably worth skipping. Overall very good stories.
