Wendy Sanford is the author of an important book particularly for this time when we need more insights and experiences about persons of color, particularly Black Americans. In her book "These Walls Between Us--A Memoir of Friendship Across Race and Class" Wendy writes of her privileged white life growing up in Princeton NJ, with summers at Nantucket where she met Mary Norman, a young Black woman who came to serve her family there. Wendy found it took much life experience to bring her to the place of awareness of the differences in life for her and for Mary. Mary has provided insights for this memoir which is an important read. For our own awareness and growth Wendy recommends reading authors of color.
