Ross Ramsey is a journalist who writes about politics, government, and public policy. Currently, he is an executive editor and co-founder of The Texas Tribune.Previously, Ramsey was editor and co-owner of Texas Weekly. Before that, he reported for the Houston Chronicle, the Dallas Times Herald, as a Dallas-based freelancer for regional and national magazines and newspapers, and for radio stations in Denton and Dallas.

Ben Philpott is a political reporter. Currently, he is the Managing Editor at the NPR station in Austin TX. He is also a contributing reporter for the Texas Tribune.Philpott has been covering state politics and dozens of other topics for KUT since 2002. Before that, he was a reporter at WBHM in Birmingham AL.

Pamela Colloff is a journalist. Her area of focus is extensively-researched long-form reporting about crime. She is currently a senior reporter at ProPublica and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine.Formerly, Colloff was an executive editor and staff writer at Texas Monthly. Her work has also appeared in The New Yorker and has been anthologized in “Best American Magazine Writing,” “Best American Crime Reporting,” “Best American Non-Required Reading,” and “Next Wave: America’s New Generation of Great Literary Journalists.”Colloff was raised in Manhattan. She received her B.A. from Brown University, then relocated to Austin. She wrote for Texas Highway Patrol, Might magazine, Details, and then she became a staff writer at Texas Monthly.
