The 400-meter container ship "Ever Given" got stuck in the Suez Canal on 23 March 2021, blocking the important shipping route between Asia and Europe for six days. Hundreds of ships had to wait for passage because of the blockade. While this may have provided the world with great meme material for a week, the true economic impact lasts a long time.
