Built on the site of a failed former amusement park that itself was built on a former coal mine with roots as old as the Domesday Book, the American Adventure Theme Park operated in Derbyshire, England. American Adventure Theme Park failed due to a series of poor management choices, and the site sat abandoned for a decade. Today, the site is under construction once again and will eventually become a new urban development.
