Today, we talk with Alan Dershowitz, renowned lawyer, professor, and scholar of U.S. constitutional and criminal law. We talk about his childhood and upbringing, and how this influenced his decision to become a lawyer. We discuss the beginnings of his career, including how he became the youngest professor to ever teach at Harvard. We then discuss the change in the dynamic of the college classroom and the entitled behavior of the newest generation. We discuss the importance of free speech, due process, education, and conflicting points of view. We talk about the loss of fundamental principles that led to our living in a “post-factual” society, and how, in the light of Alan’s recent accusation, the facts and evidence aren’t enough to clear his name. He suggests a special legal procedure and court that can handle accusations related to the MeToo movement, which allow both the accuser and the accused to be equally tried. He talks about his book, Guilt by Accusation, and how you cannot assume all accusations are true just because most are true. He talks about how the major media corporations are only out for money and don’t run the facts and the evidence he gives them. He gives an open invitation to Netflix to come on this show and have an open discussion about why they won’t run Alan’s evidence against the credibility of his accuser and the accuser of. He compares today’s reactions to sexual accusations to McCarthyism. We talk about similar sentiments and attitudes towards “white privilege,” and the Israleli-Palistenian conflict. We finish our discussion with Alan reaffirming his determination to demand justice and retribution from the defamation he has received at the hands of Netflix. We invite those at Netflix who are responsible for this defamation to have an open discussion with Prof Dershowitz on the show. We invite the listeners of our podcast to download and read Prof. Dershowtiz’s book, “Guilt by Accusation” for free on Kindle
