Pete Alexander learned the hard way how stress can derail a life. In 2018, after living with Type 2 diabetes for ten years, he landed in the ER with a blood sugar level so high it couldn't be measured. He was an hour away from a diabetic coma. The severity of his issue still didn't sink in until, responding to an demanding message from his boss as to how Pete would run a webinar from his ICU hospital bed, Pete saw firsthand how his body responded. His blood sugar level was surging--all because of stress hormones.

He quit his high-stress job and began a quest to study as many stress-relieving techniques as possible. Over time, he decided to collect them all in a book, LIGHTEN Your Day: Fast, Easy and Effective Stress Relief for When Sh*t Happens.

Our conversation takes you on a journey through Pete's story, the story of Ken, his best friend, and a few of the techniques in his book. Pete's story is poignant, and also serves as a warning to not ignore what your body is telling you about stress.
