I'm always blown away by the talent of the crew at Long Cat Media. The Ballad of Anne & Mary is impeccably written, scored, and performed. If you love musicals, egalitarian pirates, and women seeking their freedom on the high seas, you'll be sure to love this.

I’m not normally a fan of musicals, but this is great entertainment. Very talented people put this together.

The songs are wonderful and the writing is good. The plot is a little hard to follow at times, as there are some jumps in time.

Revisionist history musical with pirates! Sound design is professional. The songs are fun (though the lyricism is a bit clunky in places). My favorite song was probably "Cut and Run." I especially loved the scenes of Bonnie's and Read's backstory as their characters found freedom on the high seas. I was hoping for gay lady pirates and the story delivered. The transitions of the timeskips could have been better executed. The way the antagonist is defeated is a bit simplistically comedic given the threat he posed in the previous episode. Overall for the story itself I'd give this a 4/5, but the performances, especially of Bonnie and Read, improve the experience.
