Britt Bolnick is a business coach specializing in helping entrepreneurs get out of their heads and begin trusting their instincts to grow a business that fits their ideal lifestyle.

Britt epitomizes the term "overcoming" obstacles, as she has had quite a few in her journey. A key part of this journey was embracing the unknown by relocating her business from NYC to Portland Maine. Ultimately this proved to be one of the best decisions of her life as she found herself having more time to spend with her daughter.

Because of the amount of traveling involved to take her daughter to and from school each day, it left limited time to focus on her business. Moving to Portland freed her up to have more time dedicated to building her business. As most people soon discover when moving to a new location, one of the challenges is to develop a new local peer group. She quickly discovered that the groups currently in existence were not her ideal crowd, so she created her own group. This is one of the best things any entrepreneur can do, create a group where you are to begin attracting people who will either become potential clients or refer people they know to become potential clients.

In growing her business there were several things that proved to be vital to her success. First, it was hiring a coach. Her coach helped her identify what her weaknesses were, and challenged her on them. Secondly, she worked from a clear set of goals. Often new business owners have a hard time achieving results due to not taking the time to establish clear goals.

A tool that often is underutilized by entrepreneurs is "trusting your gut". Often your inner instincts will help you make the right decisions. Think about the times that you had a feeling about a potential decision and you didn't trust your instincts. How did that turn out? Was it the way you wanted? Or was it otherwise?

A fear that has to be worked on with many entrepreneurs is the "Imposter Syndrome". This tends to happen in the beginning of a career when you are beginning to advertise your services. The doubt comes from wondering if people will look at you as an expert, or will they think otherwise. Overcoming it starts with believing in yourself, recognizing its there, and ultimately working through it.

When it comes to getting your first client, it often is not an overnight solution regardless at what claims you might see on the internet. When you are wanting to truly build up a client base, start by building the community first. When you consistently show up and love on them, do things of service for them, and become the go-to person they will ultimately begin to know like and trust you.

The One Thing that entrepreneurs must do is start offering solutions to problems. People hire people to help them solve a problem. When you position yourself as a problem solver they will want to hire you, as long as you have built up the trust factor.
