When I was in business school back in the late ‘90s, everyone had to have a mission statement. It didn’t matter whether it was a company, a department or an individual -- everyone had a mission statement. 

When it comes to digital marketing I believe you need something like a mission statement to guide you. A mantra.

I ask my guests what is their mantra when it comes to digital marketing and I found three themes:

1. Avoid Distractions

2. Pay attention to your data

3. Know the Personality of your Brand and your Customer
