In our latest episode, we discuss how Nazi scientists, introduced to the US through Operation Paperclip, and their research prompted the CIA mind control experiments seen in Project MKUltra and its various sub-projects. The MkUltra program saw covert experiments funded through shell companies at universities and research centres across North America. Other studies were conducted in American prisons and in secret detention camps in Japan, Germany, and the Philippines. These experiments included electroshock therapy, sensory deprivation, physical, verbal and sexual abuse, as well as high doses of psychedelic drugs. In today’s episode, we’ll discuss how US and Canadian Governments have attempted to hide highly illegal, dangerous and downright sadistic secret CIA experiments. We’ll also discuss Operation Midnight Climax, which saw prostitutes seduce John’s into participating in experiments in Brooklyn, NY. Finally, we touch on SubProject68, which was a covert CIA experiment headed by Dr Donald Ewen Cameron. The facilities for SubProject68 were located at Montreal’s Allen Memorial Institute. was funded by the Society for the Investigation of Human Ecology. In the sweltering summer heat of 1985, the terrified citizens of Los Angeles made sure their windows and doors were locked, as a prowler was on the loose. Initially dubbed by media as "The Valley Intruder," as his crime spree spread to San Francisco he would eventually be known as "The Night Stalker." Any surviving witnesses had one common memory; their curly-haired attacker, who reeked of wet leather, also had wide-spaced, rotting teeth and horrible halitosis. In part one of our coverage of Richard Ramirez, we discussed his abusive childhood, his sadistic and violent father figures and we began discussing his crime spree. We conclude our series with his crime spree continuing into the San Fransisco Bay area, as well as coverage of his trial and prison marriage(s).
