In this episode, I speak with Miss United States, Andromeda Peters. Andromeda touts a Master's Degree in Social Work and Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Theatre and is a licensed clinical therapist and life coach. No stranger to the stage, she became active in theatre at age 11 and remains passionate about writing, acting, and singing today. This penchant for the arts gave way to her interest in modeling following her runway debuts at several DC fashion shows and is signed with MMG NYC. Outside of the industry, Andromeda also works as a psychotherapist with a concentration in mindfulness and her very own self-love
curriculum. "I feel immensely rewarded when my clients realize their true potential and embrace their greatness. Everyone has it in them. They just have to connect with themselves."

Taking her love affair with prose one step further, she is currently working on a novel with her father about being different, acceptance and loving oneself. Service has always been a large part of Andromeda's life and provided her with a myriad of opportunities; namely working as an AmeriCorps member and allowing her to travel to New Orleans to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. She was also fortunate enough go on a mission trip to the rurals of Jamaica where she worked in schools and in homes of families living in poverty.

As a therapist, Andromeda was led to her platform which is her movement Your Mind Matters where she teaches others that mental health is just as important as physical health. Andromeda runs workshops for women and teaches them self-care tips and provides mental health resources, as well as safety tips taught female police officers so that women feel empowered. She also teaches students the signs on when and how to seek help for themselves and others, and mindfulness techniques such as meditation. Andromeda’s passion lays in letting our country know that asking for help makes you brave. Andromeda also uses her platform and voice to speak on the importance of Self Love which even led her to Dubai as one of Huda Beauty’s Overachievers in the Huda Beauty Overachiever Campaign and continues to remind us that self-compassion is the key to healing and to success.

In this episode, Andromeda and I speak about mental health, tips for self-love and self-care, and her journey as Miss United States.
