This a must-listen podcast for anyone curious about the whole QAnon phenomenon. Gabriel Gatehouse, distinguished BBC reporter and editor, first sets the stage -the Jan 6th insurrection- then traces back the origins of this idiotic conspiracy theory with a cast of colourful characters. Enter the Clinton administration and its many scandals, the first Internet chat groups in the early 1990s, televangelists, a Californian film maker and a satanic panic, ultra-rich donors and right-wing magazines, 4chan and 8chan (of course), and a whole bunch of other weirdos. The various storylines are told in consecutive episodes, and eventually all tied together, ending in a disturbing last note. It's a complicated, rich, and gripping story with a good narrative arc, and Gabriel Gatehouse manages to pull it off very nicely.Sound design and engineering are to BBC's exacting standards, and make for an excellent listen. Highly recommended!

A well paced dive into QAnon and the January 6th insurrection. Where did Q begin, how did it expand and proliferate into the mainstream? Had me shaking my head in disbelief at points!

Have listened to a few QAnon things so I knew a fair bit of the detail but interesting to hear more opinion and how other things led to this weird cult.I'd also highly recommend the Audible exclusive podcast on this topic, can't remember the name right now. Definitely worth a listen if you have an account.
