Segment 1

Sam reads his quotes of the day. Sam welcomes his guest, Karen McGregor. She is a thought leader and global speaker. She supports leaders to master their internal environment and helps them to become a powerful source for change. Sam starts out asking Karen about her background and her journey to get to where she is today. She saw Tony Robbins on stage when she was 30 years old. She decided she wanted to be on stage with that man one day. It was a soul calling that she had. She listened to the strong calling, and started to write and speak and train speakers. She has been working for herself for 17 years. She has 3 books, and started out with interviewing entrepreneurs about their success stories. After that she wrote a book about how to drop down from your head to your heart.

Segment 2

Many of us are coming back to simplicity, and coming back to what really matters. The Tao resonated with her and she decided to write a book on it. When her father passed away and she was going through a divorce she was really struggling. When she picked up the Tao, she came across a line that said we can have challenges, in fact we all will have challenges, but it’s how we choose to experience those challenges. This line stuck with her. The Tao says what if we did have that challenge but not enter into the chaos and anxiety of that challenge. She was suffering and wanted to look at how she can help herself and others to live better using the Tao. Influence is related to power, and a lot of people look at it a negative way rather than a positive way. Power is what all of our decisions and the way we view life is related to. Power is like a tool, similar to a hammer, and it is not inherently good or bad but it’s the way you use it. The Tao is about maintaining balance. Come back to the question, am I doing this out of love or am I trying to just be a good person, be worthy?

Segment 3

Karen is passionate about helping people dismantle their power patterns and come back to the presence. She wants people to understand how to live in the present. Once you realize it you won’t only see your own but other peoples actions as well. The hardest part about shifting their relationship with power is the habits have to be created. When you are the witness to your thoughts and behaviors, it takes practice. Sometimes starting with yoga and meditation can help you bring awareness, but it's only one part. It is about establishing the habits that allow us to come back to reality. True presence is power. There are two types of purpose, many people think “What should I do next?” When you are present to what is in front of you, it is easier to tap into your guidance and intuition and unfold your purpose. Many people want someone to tell them what their purpose is.

Segment 4

When we work with our power patterns and become present, and tune into our deepest purpose (which is to love), then we can merge our mysticism and activism. During this crazy time, people are waking up to the fact that the materialistic attitude is not fulfilling. Relationships, our health, the environment, these are all more important. In the worst of times there is the strongest way that we can think and behave. For herself, letting go and allowing was really important because as a speaker people want to know how you are doing. We have to commit to living that lifestyle no matter the outside circumstances.
