Good journalistic coverage of an incredibly important story. The point made that although many are shocked and dismayed by the details of this case, they also aren't surprised by it, just said so much about the state of the US's society and justice system.

The way Daily framed it, you’d think this was a 1950’s style Klan lynching. A bunch of racist rednecks were just looking for some random black guy to kill. It was presented to us in a way that would leave us with the impression that sweet, innocent Arbery was just minding his business when he was viciously murdered by blooodthirsty Klansmen for “jogging while black”.This in spite of the fact that we ALL know otherwise. At least, we should know. But The Daily is counting on it’s audience’s ignorance, so that they can stoke more racial division and alarmism about how America is still oh so racist. Especially those dumb southern Trump voters, amirite? Wink wink.Anyone who’s seen the video and audio evidence (of before and during the incident) KNOWS that the McMichaels were not intending to kill Arbery. They were simply trying to detain him in a citizen’s arrest. Because they were told that Arbery specifically had engaged in theft beforehand. And we can know that the ONLY reason Arbery is dead is because he was trying to take the younger McMichael’s gun. We know this because WE HAVE EYES! It’s right there in the video evidence.In spite of this obvious reality, both the McMichaels AND their friend who merely recorded the incident are ALL getting life sentences for murder. Life sentences! All three of them! In spite of the fact that only one of them actually killed Arbery. In spite of the fact that it was obvious self-defense. In spite of the fact that they clearly had no intention of killing Arbery, because if they did they could have easily shot him long before he grabbed their gun. And they certainly wouldn’t have immediately called the police to report the incident. Or purposely released the incriminating private video that they reasonably thought would clear them.And everything I just pointed out would be abundantly evident to you, dear reader, if the races were reversed. But because The Daily and the other hate-projecting propaganda outlets have framed this as a “racial justice” story, all that obvious logic and reason gets thrown out the window. And melodramatic one-sided derangement like this takes over instead.
