Another crazy story. Fake it till you make it? In the health field?! Dangerous game.
This podcast is informative and fascinating. I watch the news but the whole implosion of this company missed my radar and I am intrigued.
Beautifully produced. I binged this fascinating tale in one day.
The story of Elizabeth Holmes was absolutely made for audio, because ... the voice. The completely affected, put-on, weird voice. Holmes seemed to be literally trying to be Steve Jobs - and the podcast just did a phenomenal job of painting that picture from the description of how she acted to what she wore to how she conducted business.
I feel like this podcast, particularly the “expert” lawyer she constantly quizzes is so incredibly biased towards Holmes it ruins the whole thing!! GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY
True crime kung true crime!
An intriguing story about a narcissist or incredibly driven woman...
A in-depth look at one of the strangest stories of our time, thoroughly investigated and looking into the implications for everyone involved. Recommended.
One of my all-time favorite podcasts. It is scary to know that there are people out in the world capable of this level of lying and fraud. And that voice.....lol
Interesting introduction to the Theranos story for me. After watching the documentary though, I realize there wasn't anything really new so if you've already seen/read other mediums about this top, you can probably skip it. Host voice also sometimes very annoying.
Adds to the documentary.
White collar true crime stories always feel wilder than the murder documentaries. (I mean, it could have been considered a murder documentary considering this was healthcare.) This is no exception. In fact, it is an enjoyable roller coaster.I will say, the second season is probably a bit weaker, but I understand why. The first season, the producers had full editorial control over how the story was told, but in the second season, they have to follow the events of the trial. And so, you do get a lot of filler stuff. But it's what they had to do to make the show in time, so once again, I understand.
Even if you’ve read Bad Blood this is worth it for the updates and the deposition audio.
She's a personification of so many things that are wrong with our world (and it's great that the podcast acknowledges that), listening to her speak makes me mad, I get so angry listening to the defence… Yet it's a person you love to hate so it's great to be able to follow her trial and hope she will finally face the consequences (even though she won't probably).
