Not long ago professor Anders Ericsson past away. You might recognize his name from some research around what it takes to become excellent in any field. He’s mostly known for the “10,000 hour rule” which came out of one of his research projects.
His passing made me think of this (faulty) 10,000 hour rule, and even more on what he emphasized, deliberate practice. Looking back on my own life, I realize that I have only been consistent in one thing - coaching football (soccer).
In this episode I ramble on about why being consistent is good, and in what way you should be consistent in order to increase your chances of a great coaching careers. But I also speculate on when consistency might be bad for your career.
Listen to this short episode if you enjoy critical thinking, and getting tips that will improve your chance of success.
