ABOUT OUR GUEST:
Chloe Arsenault is a second-year student in the Civil and Mining Engineering Technician program at Collège Boréal. Having been involved in the skilled trades for some time, she noticed the lack of female role models in these industries. It was the spark Chloe needed to use her voice in women's empowerment movements; sharing her skills and personal stories to help pave the way for women in male-dominated careers and the mining sector.
She is continuing to break new ground by participating in the Miss Ontario Regional Canada Pageant 2023 where she will continue to share her platform. For Chloe, being a title holder means having a purpose, a vision, and a goal. Applying your platform and being a role model are key components her pageantry journey.
Making a difference has always been very important to her and she is looking forward to using this opportunity to recognize the hard-working women in the skilled trades and as well as the women in the mining industry.

On being the only female in her studies: “You have to be strong minded. You have to keep that attitude that I am going to be part of the change. Some things I am going to have to face so that the future generation of women won’t have to feel that.”
“I cannot be afraid to ask for help. I think that can be an issue sometimes when women think, ‘If I put myself in that position, it shows I am weak.’ ”
“Another great part about women being in these industries now is not only is it empowering for women, but I think men are starting to realize that they are not superman either. They are starting to realize that they too can ask for help.”
“With the evolution of women in the trades, it’s the same story with pageantry. That’s where I found a love for it. In pageantry, we look for a role model – a leader. Somebody who wants to make a difference. That’s where having a strong message and point; being able to use social media and that crown/sash to make a difference. That’s what it comes down to
