Our guest today is James O’Loughlin, a cryptocurrency investor from Cincinnati, Ohio. I’ll be honest…when I started hearing about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies a few years ago I just thought they were a way to buy things. I never realized the currencies could actually be investments. That all changed recently when Bitcoin prices skyrocketed. To put this into context…this interview was recorded at the end of December 2017, and right before Christmas the value of Bitcoin went from about $10,000 to $19,000 and all of a sudden it seemed like everyone was talking about it—and a lot of people were making a lot of money too.

So, a little late to the crypto game, but my eyes were finally opened and I started getting very curious about investing in cryptocurrencies. I was talking to friends, asking questions on Facebook, and searching around the web to find out everything I could…and long story short, I’m 100% sold and truly view cryptocurrencies as an extremely viable way to help accumulate wealth and reach my goals of financial freedom.

I reached out to my Facebook network and asked if anyone would be willing to share their stories, successes, and failures on the podcast and James reached out. I didn’t know James prior to our conversation, but I’m so happy he replied to my post because his story is nothing short of incredible and inspiring.

James started mining Bitcoin in 2011 and has dabbled in some day trading as well. And as I’m recording this intro, just yesterday he sent me a message saying he paid off the mortgage on his house with money he made through cryptocurrencies. And that’s exactly what I wanted out of this interview—to hear a real world story of an ordinary guy like myself that found a way to make some legit money through this new age investment strategy.
