How strange and lovely it is to be back home. This is Pete and I am happy, proud, and terrified to say once again, "Welcome to The Film Basement". It's been a while since I found myself in this here territory and I welcome you all who are here. For the relaunch of The Film Basement I find myself lucky enough to have the opportunity to discuss Damien Chazelle's La La Land starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Taking an old school approach to classic musicals while injecting modern issues of weighing love versus life goals, La La Land has been the top speak recently towards Best Picture buzz with the Oscars right around the corner. With all of that in place, how did the film work from my perspective? Let's go. It's showtime. PS - Thank you to Bryan, Kevin, Chris, Jim, and Tim for keeping the train rolling and starting this from Day 1 with all the love and support one person can hope for. Thanks to everyone who takes time out of their day to listen to me ramble too. Without you, there is no show. Huzzah and love.
