For our second podcast, we have a Zoom discussion from Summer 2020 between our co-founder and CEO, Daniel Buttner, and haptic thought leader, author, and professor, David Parisi. David is the author of the book, "Archaeologies of Touch: Interfacing with Haptics from Electricity to Computing." and also frequently writes about haptics and emerging media in the tech press.

In 2020, we also published a thoughtful piece from David on our blog called “Expanding the Universe of Haptics,” which provided a thorough history of haptics and its great promise, but also tackled the dilemma of how haptics has been over-hyped by marketing teams and the press for decades, which has lead to the technology not delivering as predicted. Now, there seems to be a renewed focus and excitement about haptics with tier-1 companies adding them to roadmaps and new products. It’s an exciting time to work in the field.

The informal discussion you’re about to listen to is an extension of “Expanding the Universe of Haptics” and you can find a link to the article below.

Thanks for listening and enjoy the chat.
