This hasn’t been an easy listen. Hospitals are almost like community centers in rural communities in addition to providing an enhanced accessibility to medical care. The paradox is such facilities are too expensive to run thanks to the low numbers of those who benefit from them in comparison to hospitals in larger communities/cities. Understandably, rerouting resources in a crisis is needed and therefore communities that are hit harder would be allocated more resources which leave those vulnerable, yet safe communities with the possibility of hospitals’ closure.
Such a complex situation!
