Starts out incoherent, but gets interesting from there. As soon as Joe tells him he doesn't think he's crazy, Kanye relaxes and speaks more clearly. There is still plenty of wtf and conspiracy theory moments of cringe, but overall this episode is a good view inside the mind of a super ambitious person who desperately wants to change the world.
This episode's premise was Kanye's presidential run but quickly turned into a 3-hour long dive into Kanye's brain and beliefs—abortion, racism, utopia, energy, farming, the music industry, religion—as told by Kanye, who says he's destined to lead the free world. Toward the beginning, Joe did a good job of interrupting him and pointing out the factually incorrect statements/conspiracies Kanye was spouting and I wish he had done more of this, but it's difficult to contain a "symphony." While I find Kanye West to be a frustrating and cringey narcissist, he's undeniably a historical creative force and, while it took nearly every bit of the 3 hours, this was a very humanizing interview for him and I walked away oddly inspired.
I braced myself for a ride; it’s Kanye’s west after all. It wasn’t as delusional as I expected to be but the Questions were not as sequential as I anticipated. Kanye’s states that his ability to listen and be empathic are the qualities that make him a a leader “ as a crusader for his fight against music companies and a potential presidential candidate” . As a manipulator of media; Kanye didn’t hesitate to state that artists are raped thanks to music contracts, magically forgotten that as a producer, his contracts with up and coming artists deprive them of their masters so Why is he outraged, Mr Hypocrite? He claims that his fight is to innovate contracts, then he hard the nerve to mention that he Bruce Lee and his son Brandon Lee were murdered in the same sentence as if he is implying that he will be killed/silenced because of his fight 😳🤯😳Kanye continues to state many statements as facts which are quite arrogant; Serving God for a year every Sunday ( but no mention of his Christian inspired merchandise and Paying Zero $$ for his choir members while pocketing all the profits ; Very Christian, isn’t it? On a side note; I don’t think I gained anything from this conversation other than the fact that Podcasts can offer a dangerous platform for delusional personalities.
