I'm only 3 episodes in but I think I'm safe in saying this is a very well put together podcast, often I wonder about where the tradition of storytelling has developed to since the days of sitting around the campfire, I hope it's not to excessive of me to say that it resides in podcasts like The Lavender Tavern, it's well written, simple storytelling, there's a certain comfort in that. I in no way mean to say the plots are simple, absolutely not, but it is sometimes nice to do away with all the accoutrement and have just the listener, and the storyteller, allowing oneself to focus on the story at hand.
Not totally convinced by the way the stories are narrated, it reminds me of bedtime when I was a kid but not in a fully pleasant way. Maybe it's because often characters' voices are exaggerated, idk, but the stories are interesting so it's a pity they rubbed me the wrong way.
The Lavender TavernThanks for the review - I hope you keep listening. Every story is very different in theme and setting.
