Megan Zavieh recently published an article with Attorney at Work about everything a lawyer needs to know when drafting fee agreements, and as soon as I read it, I knew that I needed to invite Megan back on the show to talk about this. An improperly drafted fee agreement can create a lot of problems — and put you at risk as an attorney — but a lot of people, like myself, are using templated agreements that may not be sufficient. I’ve already started making some changes to the way I do things after talking to her, and I think this is information that all solo and small firms need to know to protect themselves and adequately serve their clients.
