Kyle Kingsbury is the office guinea pig at Onnit and he tries pretty much everything that might optimize the human experience – but, lately, the most important things haven’t been the latest and greatest biohacks. His focus has been on self-management practices that help him manage his mindset and his nerves.
It’s been a constant journey to return to stillness and find peace – a path that all of us could benefit from walking. Our monkey minds freak out because they feel like there’s so much to do and not enough time, but inevitably, things get better. We get wrapped up in what the hurdles are and we forget to appreciate what we learn from overcoming them.
A mindset shift can help kick off the journey: Everything in life is happening for you, not to you. It’s exceedingly simple, but truly believing that will help you develop a greater mastery over life and your experience of it.
A life that doesn’t include the purpose of learning and evolving is just going to be filled with existential suffering – but none of us need to experience that, especially not when there are people like Kyle out there testing next-level human optimization and life mastery techniques then shouting what works from the rooftops.
