Ever feel like you’re just not doing what you’re supposed to be doing with your life?
My guest today felt that in a big way. As a young man, Rusty Pang had more jobs than most people will have in a lifetime.
Within a relatively short 13 years, Rusty jumped through 26 jobs and owned seven businesses – four of which he resurrected from failure by their former owners.
But in every position and every business, he got bored or hit an upper limit. Then he moved on.
And through it all he felt a deep, residual pain.
The pain pushed him to alcoholism, unhealthy weight gain and the nagging feeling that he was missing his purpose in life.
But finally he reached a point where he embraced the pain. He sat in it. Lived with it.
He wouldn’t let his natural fight or flight tendencies take over.
And working through his emotions instead of working against them opened up his clarity.
In one stunning moment (while eating a sandwich) his purpose came to him.
Not fleeing from his pain allowed him to see the shadows his purpose had cast through all 26 jobs and seven businesses.
“I believe in the power of pain,” Rusty tells me in this episode.
In this podcast, you’ll hear Rusty Pang tell a powerful story of learning to live with pain to recognize the shadows of your purpose.
And once you recognize the shadows, you can figure out the real thing.
If you feel unfulfilled because of your work, Rusty’s story will speak to you.
If you have a hard time making decisions, or if you make them too fast, this episode is for you.
