Writing: B+/A-Voice Acting: B+Production: BCreative use of sound: N/A"Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others." Jonathan Swift"The Mcilwraith Statement" (the "i" is capitalize in the actual title but since a capital "i" looks like a small L, it could lead to confusion) is a single narrator podcast. Actually it's a single person podcast, i. e. one person does it all. However podcaster will not identify themselves so I don't know who to thank. It's a well written and narrated podcast with an interesting take on a story about someone who see's ghosts. The story begins with the narrator talking about joining an academic investigation into proported mediums and ghosts. Their objective is to find out whether ghosts and mediums are real. They seek out mediums and places with reported ghost sitting that agree to be tested. No one in the group believes that ghosts are real. Our narrator can see ghosts but she has kept it a secret from everyone since she was a child. No one on the teams knows about her ability and she acts just as skeptical as the others. Each episode is about the investigations but there is an overall plot about who provides the funding for the research and why. There are 25 episodes where the 25th episode brings the story to a very satisfying conclusion. It's a suspenseful, eerie story well told.Disclaimer: "Those who can do, those who can't, teach. Really well done podcast about a PhD candidate and her experience on a team investigating supernatural occurrences. Most episodes are centered around a specific investigation, but there is an underlying mystery throughout the season.
Sarah is a university student who joins a research project investigating mediums and the supernatural in hopes that she can find others like herself. She keeps her abilities a secret as she realizes the forces behind the study go much higher than the dean. I really enjoyed this podcast; easy to listen to and follow, solid narration, good characters. The ending was a bit weak, but it holds up and I would still definitely recommend it.
Such a charming and well written show delivered with the sort of wonderfull voice I just never tire of. The blend of a science study and ghost stories is perfect and reminds me of The Black Tapes, only narrated.
