I don’t have our usual round of stories today, because I need to make an announcement. Relax, it’s fine.
When I re-formatted the show, I did so because I wanted to make something a bit more fun, and a bit more relaxed. What it’s morphed into over the last few weeks is something that I feel doesn’t serve you as a listener the way it should.
I’m going to keep this brief, because there’s a lot going on behind the scenes, but let me give you the basics. From mid-May, the Mood Elevator is going to go weekly. What I hope that will mean is a better focus on stories, less waffle and more good stuff. This is a good thing, and it means we get the chance to have more of a chat, and I don’t end up just regurgitating the stories you’ve already read on the Huffington Post.
Lastly, I want the Mood Elevator to be a community. We’re beset on all sides by abusive comments, political chicanery and polemical arguments. The Mood Elevator is a space away from all of that, where we can come together to share stories that make us smile. We’re not sappy; we’re not naive; we just don’t need the drama.
I will be back in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime you can help make the show awesome by sharing your stories. Let me know what you think we should be covering. You can go to moodelevator.reddit.com, find the show on Twitter and Facebook, and email [email protected].
I can’t wait to come back. I’m missing you already.
Take care, and I’ll be back before you know it.
