Born in Baltimore, Maryland, this prodigal son of the East Coast moved down south to San Antonio, Texas at age 11. It was in his junior year of high school that he discovered his love and passion for music and dancing. It was also in his junior year that he was selected to become a regular dancer on a local teen dance show called "Jammin" that was hosted by legendary radio personality Sonny Melendrez and aired on KENS 5 TV. After shooting a few episodes of the dance show, he decided to use the name Chuck L. as his stage name. It did not take long for him to start gaining popularity in and around San Antonio. After using his creative abilities to co-write and short rap a song promoting the teen dance show, he then showcased his rap performance on a Jammin episode, catching the attention of the show’s host Sonny Melendrez. A few other commercial opportunities followed as he was invited down to the KTFM 102.7 radio station to perform the promotional rap song live on the morning show.
