Biographies: Dr Elisabeth Philipps PhD, BSc Hons, BSc Nutr MedElisabeth is a Neuropharmacologist and Functional Medicine nutrition practitioner with over 18 years experience. She runs a thriving health consultancy (http://www.hartwellnutrition.co.uk (www.hartwellnutrition.co.uk)) specialising in brain and gut health, where she provides expert opinion for private clients, practitioners and doctors, the national media, specialist healthcare publications and health companies.

Elisabeth’s extensive academic training includes a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science (Kings College London); PhD in neuropharmacology (Oxford University) and BSc in Nutritional Medicine, which combined means she has a huge wealth of knowledge and experience in translating medical and scientific research into straightforward and achievable clinical outcomes to improve health, performance and recovery.

Elisabeth’s passion for all things neuroscience now encompasses CBD. She is a leading expert in the mechanisms of action and applications of this hemp-based product and the human endocannabinoid system that has been causing a health revolution in the last couple of years and she specialises in debunking the myths surrounding this natural plant-based product.

The legalisation of CBD in 2018 and its place on the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) permitted substance list means this plant product has many potential applications. Elisabeth conducts scientific and clinical research into its many uses and actively promotes quality CBD products in professional sport, as she has seen first hand how CBD products support the recovery and performance of athletes, as well as for those wishing to support their health.

Dr Elisabeth Philipps will be presenting alongside professional rugby players George Kruis and Dom Day about the research and use of CBD for sports performance. You can find Elisabeth on: Instagram: @drelisabethphilippshttp://www.hartwellnutrition.co.uk (www.hartwellnutrition.co.uk)
