Love almost every episode. I like how it can be serial, or not. I hate the Expose mini series though, too many ads
Explores the relationships between a crew of crash-landed spacefarers. Action packed and well sound-designed. Worth a listen for those into full-cast sci-fi audio storytelling
Hello yes The Orphans has continued to steal my kneecaps and I will always thank them for doing so. This show has so much life, adventure, found family, and love in it; plus the folks behind the show are absolutely wonderful!! This show gives me joy in times where that's hard to find and the universe they have created is one I can't wait to see more of. I love how much found family there is and all the heartbreak I go through listening to it (good heatrbreak! I'm very attached to all the characters and will protect them with my life) Go listen to this show, you won't regret it!
When you first start listening to The Orphans, it's impossible not to notice the QUALITY. Then, how could you not stay with such script and amazing VAs? and MUSIC! This universe is so vast, and every season, every piece of it just leaves you wanting more.
Everything about this show is amazing, from the writing to the cinematic sound design, to how it's been so wonderfully scored. The worldbuilding is so rich and extensive, and the plot compelling.
Wow this show is good. The writers are truly incredible, as are the actors and I absolutely LOVE how each season is tied together in the end. A must-listen.
One of my favorite podcasts. I just finished Season 2. Love the cast, the writing and the music. It's very well done and keeps you coming back for more.
I really loved listening to this show. What a gorgeous world they built and the cast is truly lovely.
Wow. The sound design in this series the score itself is beautiful, and the storytelling merged with the soundscaping gives this a depth of feel that many pods aspire towards. I just started this series, but can't wait to continue on.
First impression: story grabbed me from the beginning, sound design is really impressive. Characters all seem well developed. After completing two seasons: This is a captivating approach to an original and philosophical story. I like the inclusion of robots and the questions of humanity they bring up. The fact that a production of this quality is free is amazing.
Interesting plot and idea, but just didn't find the story very compelling. It's good enough to try though.
An imaginative, intelligent and immersive science fiction saga. The Orphans has created a universe that is slowly revealed over the course of the three seasons and it keeps you desperately curious at all times. Combined with some excellent cinematic sound design, this is an essential listen for any science fiction listener
This drama belongs on everyone's subscriptions list. It's dramatic, tense, and at times hilarious! With cinematic sound design, brilliant music and a lore so deep you'll want to relisen again and again!
Quickly binged S1 of this show and I loved it, especially the AI / robot GeoFFRy. After finishing S2 I´m like WOW the music, sound effects, acting - I'm blown away! The story also has so many layers and interesting themes, it's quite philosophical at times. Absolutely a new favorite of mine! And GeoFFRy is by far the AI with the most scary laughter ever. Don´t miss this show!
Excellent show with a solid story and well acted. It doesn't pull its punches and so the stakes are always high in this adventure mystery.
The Orphans starts with the familiar concept of a group of people waking up with amnesia in a dangerous environment. However, this story succeeds where others often fail. There are actual answers for all the weird things going on! The acting is great, the sound design is fantastic, but the story is what kept bringing me back for more.
Cool setting and an interesting plot sets this audio drama on your list of "must listen"
Season 2 is off to a great start, but Season 1 was ama-Zing! Fresh out of the UK, this sci-fi audio drama is like Lost without the crappy Purgatory allegory and horrible smoke monsters. You join a crew of a spacecraft that has crashed and their witty British robot on their quest to find answers, and get the hell off the rock they are on.
This is such an underrated show. We're thrust right into the middle of the action during a crash landing on an unknown planet, figuring things out as the characters do. As it develops there's some excellently written character tension and conflict, resulting in a wonderfully tight and well delivered story arc that has tons of mystery and suspense, and a really intriguing premise.
A fantastic sci-fi adventure and story for survival! Great cast, sound effects, and story!
