Such a special episode to make and share, Periods and te ao Māori with Te Rina Triponel. Te Rina is an incredible wāhine working at Māori Television. We asked Te Rina to come on this episode to discuss waiwhero and what having a period means to her as a wāhine Maori. As always we learn about periods but also debunk some myths and work through some points of shame.
When she became a mum last year, Te Rina turned her journalist training on herself asking questions of her whanau to better understand the experiences of wāhine who came before her. Whether Māori or not we hope this episode inspires people with periods to honour their bodies and maybe start looking at it from a different perspective.
