Meghan Trainor grew up in Nantucket, Massachusetts, surrounded by music. Her uncle was a famous Trinidadian Soca singer and performed with the rest of her family in a Caribbean band called Island Fusion. By the end of high school, Meghan had established herself as a local performer, self-produced her own albums, and signed a publishing deal with a record company in Nashville as a songwriter. But it wasn't long after that Meghan co-wrote the song that would land her an audition with L.A. Reid and Epic Records, catapult to number one on the pop music charts, and change her life forever. Today, Meghan has three major albums, two Billboard Music Awards, and a Grammy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
