Episode #72 of Season 2 of The Social Impactors Podcast features #SocialImpactor Alba Saenz de Villaverde, President of Student MedAID, a student-led charity, affiliated with the University of Edinburgh.
Student MedAid (previously known as MedAID) collects unused and out of date medical resources from hospitals in Edinburgh, and more recently throughout the UK. They redistribute medical resources to under-resourced healthcare institutions abroad through medical students on electives, humanitarian health workers or other NGOs. They believe that every individual has the right to healthcare, and thus we advocate for equality and accessibility to healthcare resources for those who do not have the voice or opportunity to do so.
Alba, as the current President, looks to spread the message of the important work they do through Student MedAID, how she works to build an impact in the world, and how others can create an impact too.
