On the sixth installment of our series on the history of US gun control, we examine the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986, which was the result of a Senate investigation in 1982 that detailed the litany of entrapment and malicious prosecution of gun owners and dealers by the ATF.  After finding that 75% of charges it filed were spurious at best, Congress made an attempt to rein the ATF in.  The FOPA revised several parts of the Gun Control Act of 1968, added some protections for travelers, and banned manufacture of new automatic weapons.  Thanks, Feds!

Thank you to all of our listeners and supporters for seeing us through our 100th episode!
