Gary, also known as Brother Heidnik, was an American murderer who kidnapped, tortured and raped six women. He held them prisoner in a pit in his basement in Philadelphia, Penn. He killed 2 of the six women that he kidnapped.    Heidnik targeted African-American women in their late teens to mid-twenties. He usually abducted them by simply bringing them over to his house,  where he proceeded to either drug them or attack them. He also tortured his captives in many ways, including rape, beating, electric shock, f orcing them to have sex with each other while he watched, and hanging them by their wrists.
