Ayo M. Morton holds degrees from Hampton University, the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and Union Presbyterian Seminary, where she was a Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership Fellow. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Memphis. An ordained minister, she has written three novels and a devotional and has released a spoken-word CD. Her statement is “I am not a writer. Prayerfully, I am a person who is so passionate about people that I strategically place words in the correct order to reorder their lives.”
