We need to talk about New Year’s Resolutions! Everyone is talking about it, but Reshad is going to take a few twists and turns in this road. A lot of times resolutions fall flat because there’s no substance to them, no oomph. They are a fleeting, whimsical idea that sounds good and noble when they’re spoken out loud but really bear no weight. These resolutions often end up being something that sounds good, or is something that feels expected by, or will win the approval of other people. This is one of the biggest traps people fall into with setting their New Year’s Resolutions. The word resolution in this sense means a firm decision to do or not do something which is admirable in and of itself. The problem is that these decisions, whatever they may be, all too quickly bite the proverbial dust before you even go a week. There are a few key issues that affect this and that’s what we will dive into today. To help Reshad talk about this today, we are doing things a little differently and he will be joined by his gorgeous wife, Cher to discuss New Year's Resolutions and goal setting. In this episode: What do we think of when we think of New Year's Resolutions? Why do we often struggle to uphold our resolutions? What steps can we take to make our resolutions carry more weight? Ideas on how you can craft your resolutions or theme for the year. What role does hope play in resolutions and goal setting? And more!
