As we continue our Kingdom Leadership Series in this episode, we tackle the importance of loving others, or, as some versions of the Bible put it: charity, which is love in action.Jesus said to His disciples (and His future disciples): “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” ~John 13:34-35, NKJVBy commanding a level of love that goes above and beyond norm, Jesus established the cultural benchmark of the Kingdom. It is by this that others are to be stirred and enticed to become citizens themselves. In other words, they will know you by your fruit.Love is the overarching cultural characteristic of the Kingdom of God. By it, people feel the presence of the King, acknowledge His servants, and desire to become citizens themselves. As believers, we are to live as Kingdom citizens in such a way that it provokes questions for which the Gospel of Christ is the answer.Myles Munroe said:“The Kingdom is the love of God prevailing in politics, in business, in government, in media. It is all the impact of the laws of God creating a social environment where the strong help the weak, where those who have give to those who don't. It's a society where relationships are built on love.” ~Myles MunroeThere is no better way to expand the Kingdom of God than by genuinely loving people and adding value to them. When people feel loved and valued, they want to be around you more, and that’s when you can make them have an encounter with the living God. There is no Kingdom leadership or influence if love is absent.Support this podcast
