Today on the podcast, I’m giving you another segment of Five on Friday!  Today, I’m sharing my list of 5 bridesmaids pre-wedding duties.  So if you are engaged and you’re listening to this episode, feel free to pass this show along to your bridesmaids so they are prepped and know what their pre-wedding duties are!

Bridesmaids play a big role in a wedding. Selecting your closest friends or family members to be a part of your special day is a pretty big deal.  In my opinion, it is such an honor to be asked to be a part of someone’s bridal party because that means the bride truly values you and the friendship you share. It means they want you to play a part in one of the most special and memorable days of their life.

Some bridesmaids assume their responsibilities only start the day before the wedding.  As a bridesmaid, you should take your role to heart once you’re asked to be a part of a bridal party and you should take your bridesmaids responsibilities seriously from the beginning. If you help the bride with what she needs — practically and emotionally — before the wedding, the actual wedding day itself will be much more likely to go smoothly, and you'll have a lot more fun. Speaking of which, remember that even though weddings involve a lot of planning and sometimes stress, they're still supposed to be a fun time!

With that said, here’s my list of 5 bridesmaid pre-wedding duties:

Understand and know the monetary commitment of being a bridesmaid

Help plan the bachelorette party and wedding shower

Be diplomatic about the bridesmaid dress

Run wedding planning errands

Be a confidante, sounding board and great friend
