Melissa Nolan is a fabulous stage and film actress based in Dublin, Ireland. She has most recently been preparing for STRIKE by Tracey O'Flatherty. Will premiere in Samuel Beckett Theatre at Trinity College on 24-29th May.
She has been performing since she was a child. She went to a stage school called Diggs Lane, now called The National Performing Arts School. It is owned by Jill Doyle and Eamonn Farrell (Colin Farrell's brother). There, she took modern dance, singing, tap and speech and drama.
She holds an H.Dip in Theatre Studies from University College Dublin, a Licenciate Diploma in Speech & Drama from The Leinster School of Music & Drama, holds credits with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat Exam Certified - Broadsword & Unarmed Combat.
She is currently taking a Masters in Performance Drama in University College Dublin, looking at Enda Walsh's The Walworth Farce and Tom Murphy's Bailegangaire through the framework of carnivalesque and the physcology of narrative. This thesis will explore the dynamics and background of people who have suffered and have been forgotten as Ireland's social and ecomonic structures were developing; those that society labelled anonymous.
