I had the opportunity to sit down with San Diego Padres broadcaster and on-field reporter, Bob Scanlan. The former major leaguer joins me today to discuss his early days growing up in Los Angeles and being a high school draft pick in professional baseball. Bob was traded for the "Wild Thing" Mitch Williams from Philly to the Chicago Cubs, and he explains what it was like to make it to the Big Leagues in the "Windy City". We cover what it was like this year in 2020, and how the logistics of baseball were conquered by MLB. The Padres had an amazing season, earning the moniker "Slam Diego", and were an incredibly fun team to watch this year. Bob tells us just how great Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. really are, and how they work every day to perfect their craft on the field. We also discuss the art of pitching and what he looks for in guys as he analyzes during a game. Finally, Bob tells us about his tough road to becoming a broadcaster and how he had to really put in the work at the lower minor league levels to become a confident on-air talent. Please enjoy, and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE, RATE 5 STARS and REVIEW on Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and Spotify.Follow Bob Scanlan on Twitter: @heyscanFollow Me: Twitter: @TooTallSportsInstagram: @tootallsportspodcastWatch The Show On YouTube: Search - Too Tall Sports PodcastEmail: [email protected] more about your ad choices.
