Happy Monday #tot fam!! In today's episode I welcome Kyah back onto the podcast to chat candidly about her experience with Endometriosis. For those of you who don't know, endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus (the endometrium) grows outside your uterus. It occurs most commonly in your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Kyah was recently clinically diagnosed with endometriosis & so kindly opens up about her experience. We talk about how/when she started noticing symptoms, what her symptoms were, multiple misdiagnoses from many GPs/professionals, fertility, the 'normality' surrounding painful periods and dismissal of pain, the pill as a treatment/bandaid for endometriosis + so much more.
Thanks so much for listening! Be sure to follow us on IG @topicsoftaboo if you would like to get involved (or even featured) in future episodes!
