I admired what Twenty Forty was going for more than I necessarily liked it. It's a Black Mirror/Years and Years-esque show about a family living in 2040, and it delves into a vision of how genetic engineering might create a future Olympian with all the blowback that would generate, how AI will increasingly be used in areas like psychiatry, etc. I admired that it swung for the fences even when I felt that the narrative got too bogged down in a mystery, and the ending was trying so very hard to deliver a Black Mirror type twist.
