This memoir is long, and I was surprised at how little the author suffered while being left to fend for herself inside a cult-like religious group. Most of the sexual assault she experienced as a child came from people outside the group. She keeps talking about the harm that the religious leader did, but if you are familiar with cults he actually turns out to be one of the better ones. The second shoe never drops. In the end I'm sorry her childhood was horrid, she deserved a mother who wanted her.
