Susan Katz Miller is an author and journalist whose work focuses on the experiences of interfaith relationships, especially within families. Miller's first book, "Being Both: Embracing Two Religions in One Interfaith Family," was published in 2013. Her second book, "The Interfaith Family Journal," was published in 2019.Miller began her journalism career at Newsweek in New York. After working in the Los Angeles and Washington bureaus, she freelance reported from Dakar, Senegal for the New York Times. She has also written from Benin, Togo, the Gambia, and Sierra Leone for Christian Science Monitor. She spent time as a U.S. correspondent for the New Scientist, then freelanced from northeastern Brazil.Back in the U.S., Miller served as Board Co-Chair of the Interfaith Families Project of Greater Washington DC. She later founded a national support group for families celebrating more than one religion, the Network of Interfaith Family Groups, on Facebook. She founded the first blog devoted to interfaith family communities and interfaith identity, onbeingboth.com, and also blogged at Huffington Post Religion.Miller's writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Time, Slate, Utne Reader, Discover, Science, National Wildlife, Health, Moment, Jewcy.com, and interfaithfamily.com. She has appeared on The Today Show, CBS, NPR's All Things Considered, NPR's Here & Now, and The Diane Rehm Show, PBS's Religion & Ethics Newsweekly, and HuffPost Live.
