RATING
I absolutely adored Wolf 359, and had high expectations for this podcast. But so far I've been disappointed. I had been hoping for a cast working together on a story, but there is no particular plot here. These are stand-alone monologues related to the world of magic. The voice acting is excellent, but I'm not sure I have enough interest to continue.
I want this to be a TV show so badly. The world is stellar and I would love to see more of it
I'm absolutely in love so far. This episode exceeded all of the expectations I had going into this show - and with the power trio of Gabriel Urbina, Sarah Shachat, and Zach Valenti being some of my most admired writers ever, those expectations were high! I’m completely enamoured with the mechanics of the world and the way magic operates on a level that exists in the open but “unseen” to those who don’t know how to look. I was super curious to see how the monologue format of each episode would turn out, and with Zach Valenti’s incredible sound design, Alan Rodi’s gorgeous music, and a script that is fully aware of the potential that audio has to ignite the imagination, the execution is so impressive, whimsical, creative, and immersive. The message of the story so far is an important one, one that rings true, and the storytelling communicates that in a way that really tugs at your heartstrings and touches you deep within. I’m very proud to have backed the show’s Kickstarter and I can’t stress enough how much I look forward to hearing more.
I can't wait to explore more of this world.
I LOVE Unseen so far, the first episode knocked it so far out of the park it's somewhere near the moon now. The writing is as incredible as you'd expect from this amazing team. Dottie James did an exceptional job as Harry, the sound design was just beautiful. The message in this episode is wonderful and hit me very hard (in a good way!). I was so ecstatic about my favorite writers tackling one of my favorite genres and I was very right to be. I can't stress how excited I am to hear the rest of this show!
The format of this podcats and the connected universe really works.
Long Story Short Productions are just flat-out legends. You think you've heard every kind of world with magic, but you haven't, & this is the one you need !! The actors, guest writers, & other cast/crew also contribute so much to this series, it may be my favorite thing they've ever done. A must listen today !!!
Seemingly standalone stories build up a rich lore for the world of the podcast. Always a delight! Each episode adds a new layer/type of story to consider, and the voice work is always jaw-dropping.
Immediately started listening after listening to Wolf 359 and came with high expectations that were met on all fronts except for one: one continuous plot combining all episodes. Voice acting, music, individual story, sound effects, etc. all nail the atmosphere and create this super interesting world.... In which I would have loved to follow one perspective, a person or crew to get invested in like with wolf 359. The episodes are however seemingly random events which occur in the world of 'unseen' world works and makes me desire more information with each episode, which it also delivers! And now that I am at the end (hopefully for now) I still want more, but now instead by for example following someone in the 'unseen' world, such as for example the perspective of one of the 'magic police' or one of the criminals. If you are looking for a glimpse of an amazing world from the many different perspectives that a world can be seen from than this is what you are looking for. If not then listen to a few of the episodes and see whether or not the shear quality of this show can change your mind, just like it did for me
A powerhouse cast and script. I loved every minute of it. My favorite thing ever is when a podcast uses its medium to its advantage - taking the audio-only element to elevate the story at hand and Unseen does this perfectly. The writing is sharp and witty, the plot is always interesting (even the ones where I wasn't quite invested eventually had me paying close attention), and the voice acting was phenomenal. I started listening because I saw Beth Eyre and Felix Trench in the cast credits (and Zach Valenti + Emma Sherr-Ziarko + Tom Crowley), but everyone did such a great job. Julian Silver, in particular, stood out to me. He was amazing in his role as the professor. I'm yapping now, but yeah. I loved Unseen. I'm gonna go relisten to it right now actually
This was my favorite show from 2021. each episode is stand alone but the order they play in is wonderful. The stories give you an introduction to the world around you so the magic unfolds
