I was blown away by this podcast within minutes of the first episode. The writing is fresh and natural and Just. So. Good. I could listen to hours of Ivouma Okoro just telling me about the **world** they've built, no story required! But the story! It's so good!
Absolutely brilliant. In only seven episodes, I know the creator has a whole world and plan built out around her characters, and I know I want to see more of it as soon as possible.Vega is so funny and well made, I can't imagine how Ivuoma Okoro has managed to do it! The soundtrack and editing is stellar, it's really a joy to listen to. Anyone who likes scifi audio dramas needs to put this on their list as soon as possible.
It's a fabulous feeling; it begins as a speculation, and as you start listening to the teaser or first episode, it's the rush you feel as you realise: this is even better than you hoped. That's what I found in Ivuoma Okoro's powerhouse single person narration of 'Vega: A Sci-Fi Adventure'. It's smart and witty. It boots along, taking fast corners in the pursuit of showing a developed speculative fiction culture and landscape for our heroine that's interesting and well performed. And yes, it's certainly bingeworthy.
This is a storytelling podcast - like a person explaining the plot of their novel in extensive detail. The narrator tells the story in an informal manner with so much energy and keeps the listener engaged, embodying each character and the narrative itself. Sound design is incorporated well; the music is so good! The sci-fi elements are fun. Worth a listen; however, the amount of story that's been put out so far only feels like chapter 8 of a 30 chapter novel. I'm interested in hearing how the story continues.
Such an excellent story, so well told! The storytelling here relies on a single narrator, but WOW what a narrator! Okoro is masterful, fully embodying each character of the story, but even more, bringing the narrator herself to life as sly and opinionated character in her own right. Such a joy to listen to!
This show zoomed to the top of my list of favorite fiction podcasts. Ivuoma Okoro is an incredible storyteller with a thoroughly unique style. This show has everything: great plot/story, terrific production especially the inventive use of music, and the storytelling style of the narrator which is informal, cool, and feels invented on the spot: like jazz improv. That's exactly it -- I feel like I'm listening to a jazz performance by a very adept musician. Bravo. I wish I could give this 6 stars.
The casual confidence of the narrator will enthrall you, & it does so in a way you didn't think possible; the prose is beautiful, the music is wonderful, & the sci-fi fantasy elements are laid perfectly !! subscribe to this now !!
I'm loving this podcast! There's fascinating worldbuilding, a great narrative voice, and moving character drama.A recent episode addressed the audience as, "murder-horny mongrels", and I love it!
Felt like a relentless and unrefined energy discharge.
Such a vivid world that belongs alongside Gibson and other Cyberpunk legends, with a strong female lead and an invigorating style of storytelling- this podcast gives a personal and relaxed experience of Cyberpunk badassery.
